About The Chapel at Elmwood
The Chapel at Elmwood is a church dedicated to providing you with an electric Gathering Experience where you will learn how the Bible and God directly apply to your life and the circumstances you are dealing with today. So come as you are, and dress however you want; everyone is welcome here. Whether you are single, married, a parent, teen or child, we strive to make our Gathering Experience creative, relevant and excellent for you each week. It doesn't matter if you grew up in church or you have never been to church. We welcome you to come and be our guest. A place where you can sing at the top of your lungs, or just sit and take it in, we pray that it will be a life-changing experience.

Because we love kids we have created a place just for them called King's World. We ask that children ages birth through 5th grade attend this exciting environment we have especially for them that we call King's World.  Children in this age group will not be permitted in the adult gathering as we want them to engage with their peers and learn God's timeless truths through the special environment and experiences we have designed just for them.  We want this to be the best hour of the week for everybody both children and adults!  Thank you for your cooperation!

We are a community of ordinary people that have been changed because of a relationship with an extraordinary God. We understand that as a Church Body and as individuals we are to glorify God. How we do that is the mission that we are called to live out every day of our lives which is:

Our Mission
To reach every man, woman and child with repeated opportunities to hear and see the life changing message of Jesus Christ in our circle of influence.

Our Strategy
We do this by creating environments and experiences that help people take the next step in a loving, growing relationship with God and others.

We Value
  GOD
  • God is the beginning of all things (Genesis 1:1, John 1:1-4).
  • God is the center of all things (Acts 17:28, Colossians 1:15-20).
  • God longs for passionate followers (John 4:23-24).
  • We live for His glory (Psalm 115:1-3).
  TRUTH
  • God has revealed His truth to us through Jesus (John 1:14-17, 14:6).
  • God has revealed His truth to us in the Scriptures and they are the foundation of our lives
    (Matthew 7:24-27, 2 Timothy 3:16).
  LOVE
  • Love God... Love others (Matthew 22:36-40).
  • Love is the motivation for all we do (2 Corinthians 5:13-15).
  • We are building a community of Faith, Hope, Love (1 Corinthians 13:13).
  MISSION
  • We are called to make disciples of every man, woman and child (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:7-11).
  • God has invited us to join Him on His mission, and it is our privilege to partner with Him (Acts 20:24).

THE JOURNEY

When God has a plan, He already has the people, places and props worked out.  The painting created for the “IV” sermon series was one of those props.  The very night the artist was approached abut possibly painting on sight during the church service, God painted a canvas in her sleep.  He created this journey in a boat, through rough water.  Everything in the painting seemed to perfectly coincide with the sermon’s subject matter.

All the artist had to go by were four words:  GOD, TRUTH, LOVE and MISSION.

The artist decided to break down the painting for the 4 week sermon series to only paint certain colors on each of the four days.  The colors that were chosen for each Sunday were decided upon ahead of time and the artist had no idea what was going to be spoken of during the sermon, yet even the color placement lined up.

Week one:  GOD – the colors blue and purple signify royalty
Week two:  TRUTH – browns, the color of the rock (our foundation), the boat (vessel of our life), the course of the boat, the stone that changes the course of even the mightiest river.
Week three:  LOVE – black – representing the sin in our life and God’s love being poured out (red vest) to give us new life (green vest).  A shadow of the cross also appeared when painting this color, under the oar and down the inside of the canoe.
Week four – MISSION – white - this color first represents the water and being washed. Also, that we have been made pure by the blood of Christ we are now ready for the mission.  The color white also defines all the light in the painting.  We are representative of the light, having been made pure; we are now ready for the mission.
